 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Q:  What does the JONESCARE 20 Year/250,000 Mile Auto Warranty program cover?

 

A:  The JONESCARE Auto Warranty covers parts and labor on all approved engine, transmission and driveline failures including applicable seals and gaskets

 

Q:  What do I have to do to keep JONESCARE Auto Warranty in effect?

 

A:  Simply maintain the vehicle at any certified repair facility, in accordance with the Manufacturer's Recommended Maintenance Schedule.  Note that the recommended maintenance must be performed according to the maintenance schedule booklet.

 

Q:  Do I have to service the vehicle at Jones Motor Company?

 

A:  It is not necessary to have your service work performed at Jones however, it does need to be documented and any warranty work will need to be completed at a certified repair facility.

 

Q:  Can I change my own oil?

 

A:  You may change your own oil however you will have to have supporting documentation i.e.: receipts for oil and filters etc. and will have to keep an oil change log and sign off each time an oil change is completed showing that it has been done within the recommended mileage intervals.

 

 

 

Q:  Am I responsible for paying a deductible when making a claim?

 

A:  You will be responsible to a pay a $100 deductible for any warranty repair made at any service facility after the factory warranty has expired.

 

 

Q:  Does my JONESCARE Warranty contract provide towing and rental car coverage?

 

A:  No.  However towing and car rental may be covered by your factory warranty which you received with the purchase of your new vehicle. These expenses may also be covered if you purchased an extended service contract from Jones's Finance Department.   Your Jones Service Advisors can provide you with details.

 

 

Q:  Is the JONESCARE Warranty transferrable?

 

A:  No.  The JONESCARE Warranty expires upon transfer to any subsequent owners.   It is only good for "Original Owners" (as defined below)

 

 

 

Additional Information:

 

Power Train Coverage: For "Original Owners" (as defined below), the JONESCARE Warranty begins upon expiration of the factory Limited Power train factory warranty, and will continue to cover the following components up to 20 years or 250,000 miles from the Date of First Service, whichever comes first.  It does not cover normal wear and tear, maintenance, or those items excluded elsewhere.

 

Original Owner: An Original Owner is defined as the first retail purchase or lessee of the Vehicle who takes delivery of the Vehicle on its Date of First Service.

 

 

The items covered by the Limited Power train Warranty include:

 

Engine: All internally lubricated parts contained within the engine block and cylinder head(s). Seals and gaskets. Plus these non-internally lubricated parts: Water pump, valve covers, oil pan, dipstick and tube, flywheel, ring gear, flex plate, harmonic balancer, belt tensioner and idler pulley(s), intake and exhaust manifolds. Factory installed supercharger/turbocharger. Cylinder head, engine block and rotor housings.* Coolant, lubricants and oil filters.**

 

Transmission: Automatic transmission: All internally lubricated parts contained within the transmission case. Seals and gaskets. Plus these non-internally lubricated parts: Transmission mount(s), oil pan, dipstick and filler tube, vacuum modulator. Transmission case.* Fluids, lubricants and filter.** Manual transmission: All internally lubricated parts contained within the transmission case. Seals and gaskets. Plus these non-internally lubricated parts: Transmission mount(s). Transmission case.* Fluids, lubricants and filter.** (STANDARD TRANSMISSION CLUTCH ASSEMBLIES AND ALL COMPONENT PARTS ARE NOT COVERED.)

 

Transfer Case: All internally lubricated parts contained within the transfer case. Plus these non-internally lubricated parts: Electronic and vacuum engagement parts, four wheel drive automatic/semi-automatic and manually operated hub assemblies. Seals and gaskets. Transfer case housing.* Lubricants.**

 

Drive Axle: All internally lubricated parts contained within the Front and/or Rear Drive Axle Housing. Plus the following parts: Axle shafts, axle

bearings, constant velocity joints and boots, universal joints, center support bearing. Seals and gaskets. Final drive housing.* Lubricants.**

LIMITED POWERTRAIN COVERAGE

ENGINE: All internal lubricated parts: bearings, pistons, piston pins and rings, valves, valve springs, valve spring retainers and rocker arms; timing chain or timing belt and tensioners, and rocker arms. Timing gear, oil pump, valve guides, followers, valve seat, rocker shafts, push rods, valve lifters, connecting rods, crank shaft and main bearings, camshaft, cam bearings and rocker bushings. Other part: Water pump, engine mounts, engine cushions, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, front cover, harmonic balancers, flywheel (flex plate), flywheel ring gear, pulleys and eccentric shaft; seals and gaskets. NOTE: Engine block, cylinder head(s), cylinder sleeves, oil pan and valve cover only if the damage results from the failure of an internal lubricated part.

TRANSMISSION (AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL): All internal lubricated parts; torque converter, pump, drums, reaction carrier, shafts, hubs, gears, shift rails and forks, internal linkage, and bearings. Transmission mounts, vacuum modulator; seals and gaskets. The transmission case, housing and oil pan. Only if the damage results from the failure of an internal lubricated part.

TRANSFER CASE: All internal lubricated parts, plus transfer case housing, only if the damage results from failure of an internal lubricated part.

DRIVE AXLE (FRONT, REAR, 4WD OR AWD): All internal lubricated parts contained within the drive axle housing; hub, axle and non-serviceable bearings, drive gears and clutches. Constant velocity joints, universal joints, axle shafts, drive shafts; seals and gaskets. The axle or transaxle housing, only if the damage results from the failure of an internal lubricated part.
